I wanted to add this to my collection, but the original game files are so darn quiet and lo-fi, I decided to take a stab at it so I decided to use what I know with the programs I have to try and clean up and remaster the Echoes soundtrack from the game files. I used iZotope RX and Ozone in Adobe Audition as well as some others. These files were from the game .iso so these are the files the actual GameCube would play during the game.
I could only find 57 of the soundtrack files and some collections have more, so I'm sorry if your favorite is missing... there was over 2,500 files on the disk in the audio folder so I had to really look hard for what I found... Also the source files only had frequencies up to 16khz so you may be surprised when you hear how much better I made them sound. Compare the original to mine and see how they compare. ;) Also if anybody can find me the original files from the game disk, not touched, that are missing, in FLAC- I can remaster them and put them up here with the others so I have a complete soundtrack. Those who know what I'm talking about with ripping the files from the .iso may be able to help me gather them. ^^
The download is in 8 parts since MediaFire only gives me 200mb per file upload and the total size of this soundtrack in FLAC is 1.2gb. They are .rar. Password: audiogirl14
I also added 25% recovery in case download problems arise.

-Ripped the original files from the game .iso (I have the original disk too)
-Resampled by mirroring the higher frequencies then resampling to down to 44.1khz in RX
-Clipping, pops, crackles, and other artifacts were removed in RX at highest quality setting
-Recorded audio through Breakaway audio enhancer into Audacity (at 44.1khz SR as my soundcard only goes up to 20khz) to tame dynamics without limiting or compression (single as opposed to multi - typical threshold levels being around-12db mine is set to -100db but with extremely small radios as opposed to huge 2:1/+ ratios in typical compression usage) Breakaway noise reduction feature was also used - at transparent settings where the noise to sound ratio is much wider than before - without obvious artifacts. This also gives it a more of an analog feel here, which is why I didn't use any excitation. This adds that analog character to the digital files "tone".
-Declipped again in case anything audible came through (some did, but I fixed with this step, though Breakaway does some really good noise removal and limiting, so the limiting that it did do had some artifacts, but they made the sound "punchier" and have more impact so I kinda like the sound. But I wanted it transparent so by declipping it after made the transients have that punch and impact but still smooth and without artifacts)
-Correction Eq'd was done for each song so the frequency response and tone was "ruler flat" under critical analysis. The EQing process made some songs have more noise and artifacts that weren't needed so I had to LowPass accordingly and compare between the originals so the noise was not increased after EQ'ing and the mix didn't suffer. (EQ being corrective EQ using ozone's matching feature and a good trained ear!)
-Deconstructed the audio wave very slightly, favoring tonal sounds over the "noisy" sounds just by 3db, giving each track a smooth undertone instead of a harsh lo-fi sound. So now we are at a smooth punchy transient analog sound.
-Transparent reverb was added to fill in the extra space and make the stereo image bigger and more "immersive" (wet settings set to 10%, Dry 100%, stereo mix set to 100%) at the right settings a "being there" experience will occur frequently for listeners
-Stereo imaging phasing problems were corrected as well as mono-capable multi-band stereo-widening was done as needed for good stereo sound quality where the sounds seem to circle around, in front, behind, above, and below you where their location is easily distinguishable and seem to sit in a 3D space.
-The entire soundtrack was then normalized using Audition's match volume feature set to ITU-R BS.1770-2 Loudness equalization at -23.00 LUFS (Standard)
-Then the files were Limited to modern mastering levels using LoudMax (0% distortion automatic transparent limiter vst) and then sent to Ozone's limiter with the limiter grabbing -2db before loudmaxx does to insure transparent and modern listening volumes without artifacts - just like the pros. The DC filter was activated as well as MBIT 16-bit dithering technology. (Please note the entire project was processed in 24-bit)
